It was almost midnight. The city was dark, lit by a few neon lights that would flicker in the darkness. Kotaro sat in Otokoyo square, waiting for the gates to open. He looked through the eye holes of his kitsune mask at the other children gathered there and then looked at his mother, Oshira-sama. A white moth fluttered about her as she stood by the gate in her borrowed body.
She didn't look at him and he wasn't expecting her too. After all, he was an Otokoyo player and was equal to the other children. He would not get special treatment from his mother or the others.
If he was caught...he would die.
He tightened his grip on his chain sickle as the lanterns began to glow and the gates opened. He stood and began to walk towards the gate.
Otokoyo had begun.

Kotaro quickly lost sight of the others as they dashed off into the maze of the city, laughing at the game, unknowing of the danger.

Kotaro himself managed to avoid the hidden dangers of the city as he wandered about, ending up at a cross road leading left and right, with a staircase partially hidden behind a pile of scrap.

Kotaro looked at the paths and then at the staircase. He sighed and sat on a window sill for a moment. He couldn't remember where he was and he thought that he knew ever inch of the city.
The others were probably getting caught about now.
After a few minutes he stood and went to the right.

Before he knew it, Kotaro came to a closed wooden gate with a paper seal locking it closed. Below the seal words were burned into the wood: "I am the beginning of the end, and the end of time and space. I am essential to creation, and I surround every place. What am I?"

Kotaro stood there for a moment, reading the riddle and then he smiled.
"The answer is the letter 'e'," He said, "It's at the beginning of the word end and at the end of the words time and space. You can't spell creation without the e and 'every place' both starts and ends with e so e surrounds the word group."

At Kotaro's answer the seal explodes in a ball of flames, singeing both the gate and Kotaro in the process, however the gate is now open.

Kotaro stepped back, hesitating for only a moment before he ran. He knew there was no point in fighting the demons. They would simply pull themselves back together after all.

As Kotaro burst through the gate the previously tight alleyways open up to a large clearing, perhaps a park of some kind. Before Kotaro can appreciate the greenery however and another loud squeak of wood sounds from above and behind him, closer this time. Looking back he is greeted by the sight of Kimotori leaning over a rail above the gate.
make your choice, fight (one of the three kinds) or run, and roll d100+ any action points you want.

Kotaro snarled. Kimotori may have been his friend, but now, while in the game, they were enemies.
Kotaro drew his chain sickle and went on the offensive. He threw out the chain, attempting to wrapped it around one of Kimotori's arms and keep him from attacking.

Kimotori let out a roar before leaping over the rail, swinging his giant club at Kotaro's head. (you won the roll, and since you won an offence vs. offence fight you completely win the fight, so you can do what you want.)

Kotaro ducked, dodging Kimotori's club. He swung out the chain again, wrapping it around the demon's leg and pulled it tight, tripping Kimotori.

(It's kind of like Dungeons and Dragons except easier. From what I understand, you say what you want your character to do and then roll a die. If the number you get is good then the Dungeon Master tells you that you made it and if not then you don't.
For example, let's say Kotaro wants to get a cookie. I write: 'Kotaro looked at the cookies on the high shelf and began to climb.' I roll. Then the DM (Dungeon Master) rolls. If my roll beats the DM's roll then the DM will write: 'Kotaro successfully scales the high shelf and gets the cookie.' If I roll poorly and the DM gets a better roll then the DM will write: 'Kotaro tries to scale the high shelf but slips and falls on his butt.'
I don't think you have to roll for everything i.e. you can hold a conversation with another player without rolling. So basically, this RP is like ours except a bit more board game like. Hope that helps. ^_^ )
