"He's a good boy," the tengu said, "Kind. He loves his mother and did what he did to protect her. He didn't want her to suffer. You did the right thing, fledgling, I'm just glad you survived. Lesser tengu had become nothing but bones. Also, while most of those souls have passed on, a few still cling to life. They're are....five or six I think, all ranging throughout time that wish to live again. Perhaps you and I can help them, hm?"

"Ok," said Yaimao to the tengu, "But what's your name?"

"My name is Sōjōbō," the tengu said, "I live on Mount Kurama. Have you ever been there?"

"Well perhaps you will someday," Sojobo said, "It is near Kyoto and it so beautiful. Thick, green trees, snow covered tip. The air is always fresh and clean and you can hear an echo for miles. The very atmosphere is solid and safe."
The tengu king smiled, thinking about it.
"Ah well," he sighed, "I shall let you go back to your pleasures, unless you have something else to ask me?"

"What is my family real origin?" Yaimao said to Sojobo.

"Well," Sojobo said, "Your grandfather, Suzume, was the son of a tengu so he was half tengu. Your father was therefore one fourth tengu. Your mother, rest her soul, was my daughter. So you and your little brother are three fourths tengu. It's a wonder you weren't born with wings from your mother's womb, my grandson."

Tachiji did not however sleep as peacefully. He had a horrendous dream that he was being chased by animal control people and was followed by two large hulking dog-like creature as he ran for his life in his tanuki form. He still had a stub where his other tail had been and this curiosity spiked one of the creature intrests, though he wouldn't wonder why; it was too dangerous to stop running now. In real-life, he murrmered and whined and made scuffling sounds beside Inari.

Kotori smiled and squeezed back.
"I saw her once," Sojobo said, "She was a beautiful woman but she belonged to your grandfather so I never approached her. I didn't want to be a home wrecker."
He smiled a little sheepishly.
"She had a beautiful heart and was good with the sword, a fine warrior. Is she...is she still...no, never mind. It's been to long, she's probably buried in a nice grave isn't she?"
He looked a little sad.

Inari held Tachiji and saw his tail and the stub swaying fitful. She sighed and while she wasn't sure if it would help, lay her hand around the stub of his tail. She began to rub it gently, coaxing it to grow. It would not hold the power it once had, but at least he wouldn't feel lopsided anymore.

"No, she is still alive and spider demon like Kotori," said Yaimao as he smiled to Sojobo, "My grandfather passed away and moved into the afterlife. So far, she is still alive and living with us. Everyone accepted her as a grandmother to the children and she is still alive. So don't worried."
Yaimao was aware that Bao was in their dream as she was sleeping peacefully as Bao smiled from behind.
"Since my husband passed away along with my son," Bao said to Sojomo as she smiled, "They are at peace and I am freed from death parted us."

'N..no.. I said sorry before I went to Inari's rooomm.. I appologized.. don't hurt me.. don't take us.' He snarrled and awoke. He looked into his loving wife's face and cried. "I did appologize.. before I came into here with Hakuto.. I.. I changed to my human form for her but... oooooohh...' He cried and hugged his wife sadly.
