After that, Marta sang three more pieces and then she went backstage to rest while the band played a classical piece.
Lupin nudged Jigen with his elbow.
"Now's your chance," he whispered to his partner, "Go talk to her before the party. Once the concert's over people will be flocking all over her and you might be able to get close enough."

Jigen nodded taking a deep breath.
"Wish me luck."
Jigen said as he got up and walk over to a door that connected to the backstage. He was surprised to see no body guards around.
"Did she predict I was coming to see her?"
Jigen said softly as he walked down the hallway of the backstage as he wondered which room was Marta's.

Lupin smiled as he watched Jigen get up and he waited until his friend was out of sight before he got up himself and left the theater. With a smirk on his face he set his plan into motion.
Meanwhile, Marta was sitting in her dressing room, the door slightly ajar. She was sitting in front of a dressing room mirror, touching up her lipstick. However, when she heard footsteps in the hall she put her lipstick away and opened a nearby draw, retrieving a small object.
Her entire body was tense.

Jigen looked into Marta's room seeing it was slightly opened but he knocked.
"Marta are you here?"
Jigen asked as he waited for a reply.

Hearing the person approaching her room, Marta turned on her heel, her small smith and wesson 5 shot gun pointing in Jigen's direction. She looked frightened but determined, and she was about to squeeze the trigger and shoot the stranger through the door but then she heard Jigen's voice and lower her gun, trembling lightly.
Quickly she turned and put the gun away.
"C-Come in," she said.

Jigen came inside the room a bit nervous.
"Hey Marta. How have you been?"
Jigen said walking in with smile as he looked at Marta.

"I-I'm fine," Marta stuttered, although she didn't look fine. She looked at the draw where her gun lay and then turned back to him, "Oh, Jigen. I could have shot you!"
With that she quickly walked into his arms, clutching at his shirt front.
"I've become so a-afraid," she said, "I'm sorry."

"It ok Marta it wouldn't of been your fault. Come here I will keep you safe from everything and everyone."
Jigen said as he wraped his arms around Marta and smiled.
"I hope you like gifts."
Jigen said showing the little box he had.

"You just being here is a gift," Marta said softly, hugging him, "I've thought about you almost every day since we parted. I know you can't really stay in one place for to long but I was hoping to see you, at least one more time. Thank you for coming."
She hugged him snuggly, breathing a bit easier now because she trusted him and knew he'd do his best to protect her. Then looked at the box.
"What is it?" she asked quietly.

Jigen smiled as he opened the box revealing the necklace it had a golden chain with a golden locket.
"I'm sorry, if it not as fancy as your used to these days."
Jigen said as he smiled.

"It's beautiful, thank you," Marta said and the love in her voice showed that she really appreciated the gift, "The price doesn't matter. What matter's is that it was given with kindness. Thank you Jigen."
She reached up a hand and very gently stroked his cheek, smiling softly as she looked into his eyes.
"Help me put it on?" she asked after a minute, turning so her back was to him and gently pulling her dark hair to the side.

"Sure."
Jigen pulled the necklace out of the box and unhooked the necklace so it was know able for Jigen to put it around Marta's neck and the reattached the necklace.
"There you go."
Jigen said with a smile.

"Thank you," Marta said gratefully, turning back to him, "it's lovely, Jigen. Thank you."
"Marta, you're back on in five!" a voice called from the direction of the stage, and Marta took Jigen's hand.
"I need to go but, I'll see you at the party?" she asked, looking hopeful.

Marta smiled knowingly and kissed his lips, soft as silk.
"I'd love that, see you then," she said alluringly, sweeping past him, her hands caressing his arm as she left.
