Jigen smiled and blushed and then left her room and began to make his way back to the table and felt so happy. Like he was a brand new man who could accomplish anything.

Lupin wasn't there when Jigen got back, but the classical piece had ended and Marta was back on stage, singing the last few songs of her concert. She sang her heart out, putting her soul into her songs for her audience, and the golden locket winked in the light, a promise in it's shine and shape.

Jigen smiled as he watched Marta sing he thought of how his life would of been if he actually stayed with her instead of disappearing on her.

As the last song ended, Marta bowed elegantly before the crowd as they erupted into applause. The applause lasted long after Marta left the stage and then everyone settled down and began to leave. Luckily, the party was only open for specially invited guests, since if the entire audience had tried to attend there wouldn't have been enough room in the building, as big as it was.
At the party, tables were lined with an assortment of rich foods lite by candle light and people milled about, holding polite conversations and sips from glass flutes filled with wine.
Marta was there admist them, trying to politely fend off the guests who wanted to talk her ear off. She was wearing a elegant black dress with gold accents and she was still wearing the locket Jigen had given her.

Jigen entered the building and looked around for Marta but it was proving slightly difficult until he saw her hair and her black dress and began walking to her. "Marta?" Jigen asked as he got closer to her.

SHe turned and saw him, smiling softly, and at her reaction everyone who was bothering her turned to look as well. When they saw Jigen many of them teased up and a few moved away, intimated by his appearance and history.

"This is a really nice party you are having Marta." Jigen said with a smile trying not to be act unfriendly to the other attendees or embarrass Marta in any way.

"Thank you, Daisuke," she replied, making her ways towards him. After she got out of the crowd she looked over her shoulder at the others.
"If you don't mind, gentlemen," she said to them politely, "I'd like to spend some time alone with my finance. It was nice talking to you though."
"Oh, y-yes, Miss Marta," one of the men stuttered and the crowd dispersed, letting Marta breath a little easier.
"Honestly, I thought they'd never leave," she said softly into Jigen's chest, "Thank you for coming to save me."

"Anything for you Marta. Do you need me to save even more?" Jigen asked with a smile as he held Marta.

Marta smirked up at him.
"I'm not that much of a damsel," she teased, letting her hand slide sensually over his arm, "Come on, let's get something to drink."
Taking his hand she led him over to the bar where the barman was drying a glass cup.
"A gin and tonic, please," she said and the man nodded and looked at Jigen, wondering what he wanted.
Marta sort of hugged Jigen's arm and whispered in his ear, her breath fanning his skin tenderly, "What will you have, my hero?"

"I'll take a Manhatten with slice of lemon." Jigen said as he smiled at Marta. "So how have you been since I brought you to the hostpital. If you don't wish to tell me it is ok with me." Jigen asked as he scratched his neck with his free hand.

The bartender nodded and turned away to make their drinks while Marta smiled back a Jigen. At his question she was quiet, looking out over the floor crowded with people.
"It's been...busy," she said, "After I was discharged from the hospital, I was put back to work. I would have refused but, my contract is very binding and...I was young and foolish when I signed it, to caught up in the thrill of 'making it' I suppose."
She smiled bitterly.

Jigen smiled. "Well I guess I can say one good thing came out of that contract.... Us being able to meet." Jigen said softly as he looked at Marta.

The bartender came over with their drinks and Marta took hers, sipping it lightly.
"Not hardly," she said, "I wasn't suppose to hire you. Part of my contract is that I let my manager take care of all security, and I went over his head by hiring you. Good thing I did."

"Ya I guess if I wasn't there you wouldn't be here today. Truthfully I would of been sad because well I was quite the fan as your singing while I was your bodyguard if you noticed how much my foot tapped when you were singing." Jigen said as he took a sip of his drink.
