Kayven smiled and licked Xander's ears in thanks. The fish, deciding that Kayven wasn't food, swam away.

Xander walked about in the water, his tail streaming out behind him and making ripples. He hopped about to make splashes, very much enjoying himself now that he was back in his natural habitat.
He ran over to Kayven to splash him, then ran off again laughing, encouraging his stripey friend to join in.

Kayven laughed, wiping the water off his face with his paw. He ran after Xander, splashing and cheering, and he felt so good. The scent of the fresh air blowing over the water, the feeling of the cool liquid soaking him to the skin. He even loved the feeling of the smooth pebbles under his feet.
He caught up with Xander and tackled his friend, hugging and rolling with him in the water.

Rolling through the water, Xander sat up and laughed, the water making his dark fur look darker and his ears hung heavy til he shook his head.
He pounced on Kayven to roll about the water some more.

Kayven laughed and they went tumbling over and over through the water. Eventually they came up for air and Kayven was panting but so happy. He shook his head, getting the water off his head and then relaxed in the cool water, completely content.

Xander crouched in the water, his nose just above the surface as he watched some fish further out. He stayed very still for a moment before darting forward to chase them as they scattered. He didn't care if he actually caught one, he just liked the chase.

Kayven watched Xander happily, his tail swaying back and forth through the water. He rolled over to see if there was anyone else by the lake.

Xander continues to chase fish, happily exercising powerful leg muscles as he darted after small silver flashes in the water.
(*Looks around for the invisible people* We should find some other Knopfleri to join in, there must be at least a few running around, right?)

(One knopfleri owner has expressed interest in joining but I don't know when they'll get here so..."
Kayven turned back to Xander and splashed him before running up the bank, laughing.

(Cool, can't wait to meet them. ^_^)
Surprised, Xander shook his fur after Kayven splashed him, then laughed and gave chase, the fish quickly forgotten as he raced after his stripey friend.

Hidden in the shadow of a nearby tree, a dark female knopfleri slept, unaware of chase happening near her. With her tail wrapped snugly around her, Mirage dreamed quietly of what she was going to do next.

Kayven smiled, incredibly happy that Xander was chasing him. He ran towards the tree line and climbed up the nearest tree. He reached the fork in the tree and was so focused on the chase that he climbed on top of Mirage.
So startled that his paw had landed on something warm, furry and soft instead of the tree, Kayven gasped and tripped, falling out of the tree. He landed in the sand with a groan.

Xander skidded to a stop as Kayven almost landed on him, sand going all over the place. Concerned, he moved forward and nudged the stripey Knopfleri with his paw, "Hey, what happened? You alright?"

Kayven groaned and rolled over. Sand was covering his wet fur and he shook his head to get the sand out of his ears.
"Yes, I think I'm okay," he said, standing gingerly and trying to brush off the worse of the grit, "The sand cushioned my fall but t-there's something in the tree. I tripped over it. It was soft and warm and..."
He looked up at the fork in the tree and saw a knopfleri tail hanging down. His eyes widened.
