"That sounds fine," Kayven agreed, "The children will enjoy the berries, hopefully."
He looked down, his ears twitching as he watched his son and Noelle play. Myren smiled and crouched down and with a wiggle of his tiny butt he pounced playfully on Noelle.

Xander nodded and looked at the little ones. "Now we just need to get these two moving."
Noelle rolled onto her back when Myren pounced on her. She giggled happily.

Kayven sighed.
"Easier said then done," he said, and lifted Myren by the scruff of the babies' neck, carefully dangling his son in the air. He nodded to Xander to show that he was ready. Myren stayed mostly still, looking around curiously.

Xander smiled in slight amusement and nodded back at Kayven. Then he looked at Noelle and made a quiet, low chittering sound as his tail flicked. He started to walk towards the longer grass in the direction of the nearest berry bushes.
Noelle's ears twitched and she quickly sat up. She watched her father for a moment, then jumped to her feet and bounded after him. Her tail swished in the air like it was waving.

Kayven smiled, watching Noelle follow Xander, and then he followed behind them, carrying Myren safely in his mouth. It wasn't that he didn't think his son could keep up or that the kit would get lost, he just worried. Myren was so little, anything could make him a snack, and that was a risk Kayven would not take.

Xander kept his pace slow enough to make sure the others could keep up. He glanced back to see Noelle's tail weaving through the grass behind him, and Kayven following with Myren. A brief smile formed as he face forward again. His ears twitched alertly while he followed his nose.
Noelle leapt up on a small rock, looked around for a moment, then jumped down as she chased her father's scent. She slowed down a bit to walk next to Kayven and Myren, but ran ahead again a few minutes later.

Kayven watched Noelle closely and chuckled as she darted about. Myren was swinging gently from his mouth, the tiny boy looking around at the world curiously. His father looked ahead, wondering where Xander as taking them.

Xander leapt over a fallen log, then paused to make sure the others could catch up. He glanced over to the berry bushes in the near distance while he waited. His tail swished.
Noelle stopped near the log and sniffed at it for a moment before running to one end and crawling into it.

Kayven lightly stepped over the log and Myren looked back at Noelle, cooing and wiggling his front paws in her direction, as if he wanted to play too.

Xander nodded his head toward the east to indicate where they were heading. Then he continued on his path through the long grass.
Noelle poked her head out from the log, her ears upright, and blinked at Myren. She scrambled out of the log and bounded over to sniff at him, then playfully darted back and forth between her father and Kayven. Her tail waved happily.

Kayven adjusted his grip on his squirming offspring and set off after Xander, keeping an eye on Noelle to make sure she was safe. Myren cooed and smile when his "cousin" had sniffed him, and he wanted to get down to play with her, but he knew that he wasn't suppose to struggle.

Xander walked on ahead, his ears twitched almost as much as his nose did. He glanced back every now and then to make sure the others could keep up.
A ladybug flew past Noelle she ran around and she turned in a little circle to chase it for a moment. As soon as it flew out of her reach, she sniffed the ground, then raced over to the adults again.

Suddenly, a giant bear crashed through the trees, ready to eat the knopfleri. Myren screamed and cried in surprised fear and Kayven tensed, trying to decide which way to run.

Xander stopped in his tracks, his fur bristled. Quickly, he spun round and darted back towards the others. He nudged Noelle forcefully until she started to move again, then he raced back to Kayven. "Hide somewhere it can't follow you! Keep Myren quiet, if you can."
Noelle sprinted back to the fallen log they had passed earlier and scrambled into one end. Her ears flattened against her head.

Kayven immediately rushed up the nearest tree, his longer claws digging into the tree bark desperately as he raced to the higher branches, Myren held tightly. Once up in the tree he secured his son in the crook of a branch and turned back to find Xander and Noelle.
The bear was crashing around, trying to sniff out the knopfleri.
