Xander's ears twitched as he looked around the space they were currently in. "It's very... human."
His gaze wandered to Charlotte, then back to Kayven. "But it might have to do for now."

"Better then being outside in that storm," Kayven agreed, looking to the window. A storm had rolled in and its winds were fierce, buffeting the window so it almost looked like the glass was bubbling in and out. Kayven swallowed nervously, worried about his small family.
He scooted closer to Xander, wrapping his tail around him and watching the children closely.

Xander nodded and looked to the window for a while. He glanced round when he felt Kayven next to him, then he returned the gesture by wrapping his tail around them both before he looked back at the window again.
Noelle somehow managed to roll up to them and head-butted their front paws. She quickly rolled away again to get up and try and pounce on Myren.

"We'll be alright," Kayven said, more to keep himself calm then anything. He cuddled against Xander's warmth, trying to relax. If anything happened to his family he would be crushed.
He smiled softly as Noelle gently butted them, watching as she dashed off to play with Myren.
Myren rolled over onto his front, getting into a crouched position similar to Noelle's. He pounced, his small fuzzy body leaping through the air towards Noelle.

Xander purred reassuringly in response as Kayven cuddled into him, but didn't look away from the window.
Noelle noticed Myren pounce towards her and as soon as he made contact she rolled them both sideways in a half-hug half-tackle.

Myren giggled, rolling and hugging Noelle back. When they came to a stop he purred and licked her cheek, cuddling against her neck.

Noelle laughed and pawed at Myren while he cuddled her. She wriggled onto her front and blew air into one of his ears, her tail swished playfully.
Xander's fur stood on end as though to protect him from the sight of the weather from the window as he looked around the room again to examine it a little more closely.

Myren's ears flicked and for a moment he looked really surprised, as if he didn't understand what had just happened. He yipped at Noelle and tackled her again.

Noelle's tail flicked round to try and tickle Myren while she rolled around to paw at him. She stopped laughing only long enough to catch her breath, then kept laughing.

When Noelle's tail touched Myren's side he began to giggle, turning to bat at Noelle's tail playfully. His own tail swished back and forth excitedly, yipping happily.

Noelle flicked her tail around enthusiasticly to continue the game while she tried to wrap her paw around one of Myren's ears.

Myren yipped happily and practically hugged Noelle, rolling around with her on the floor.
While the children played, Charlotte showed Xander and Kayven where the food and water bowls were kept. Kayven lowered his head to sniff the round, dark brown pellets. He wriggled his nose at the smell and then sneezed a bit.
"What is this?" he asked and Charlotte gave him a blank look.
"It's food," she said.
Kayven looked back at the bowl, not to sure.

Noelle yipped back and growled playfully as she rolled and lightly nipped at Myren's ear.
Xander watched while Kayven investigated the strange things Charlotte had wanted to show them. His nose crinkled at the smell, but he said nothing, not wanting to offend the female. Even the water seemed different somehow. He sat down as his tail swished back and forth, and looked from the "food" to Charlotte, thoughtful.

Charlotte looked back at him, her ears lowering sadly. She could feel their dissatisfaction and she turned it on herself.
"I...I'm sorry," she said, ashamed, "It's the b-best I have."

Xander looked mildly surprised by Charlotte's reaction. He glanced to Kayven for a moment, then stood up and brushed up against the female in an attempt to comfort her. His tail wrapped itself around her.
