Charlotte startled but quickly leaned into Xander's attentions, missing the contact of other knopfleris. She pured softly and rubbed her head against his side. Her human, Travis, took care of her but she missed being with her own kind. Kayven walked up to Charlotte's other side and rubbed against her to, trying to comfort her.

Xander stood still and nuzzled Charlotte's neck as she rubbed against him. He glanced around, looked at the food again, then briefly nuzzled Kayven when he was close enough. His ears twitched. A reassuring purr rumbled through his chest in response to Charlotte's own purring. He was content to stay put while he was needed.
"You don't need to apologise," he murmured softly.

Xander wrapped his tail around the others and licked Charlotte's ear, then nuzzled her again. His purr deepened. "It's okay. Really."

Charlotte purred and nuzzled him back, thankful for his understanding but not sure what she could do to make her visitors feel more comfortable.

Xander let Charlotte nuzzle against him while he thought and looked around. He glanced from Kayven to the female against his side, then he gently nudged her with his nose. "How about you show us around this place, hm? Where are your favourite areas?"

Kayven nodded in agreement and Charlotte looked back and forth between them.
"Alright, if that would interest you," she said, getting up, "Follow me please."
She began to walk away towards Travis' bedroom.

Xander watched Charlotte get up and lead the way for a moment before he followed. He briefly brushed against Kayven on the way past, and paused here and there to sniff at things, but made sure to keep the female in sight.

Kayven rubbed back against Xander and then turned his head, yipping to Noelle and Myren to follow. Charlotte walked into the bedroom, sniffed the sheet hanging from the bed and then hoped up on the soft mattress.

Noelle stopped playing and rolled over to look up at the sound. She scrambled to her feet and bounded after the adults, her tail waving excitedly.
Xander paused to look back, then walked on once he was sure the others were following.

Myren saw Noelle leave and so he quickly got up onto his little feet and followed, his tail swaying quickly back and forth. Kayven greeted the two young ones with a head rub before herding them gently towards Xander, following behind them to make sure they didn't get lost.
"It's really soft up here," Charlotte called down from the bed, "It smells like my human to. Come on up, please?"

Noelle rubbed up against Kayven before dashing after her father's tail, which she spotted disappearing into one of the rooms. She tried to pounce on it, but missed and skidded slightly further down the hall from the momentum.
Xander's ears twitched at the noise from the hall, but he moved towards the bed and sniffed around, then jumped up as Charlotte had asked. His tail swished as he sniffed at the blankets.

Kayven hovered behind, keeping an eye on the children while Charlotte lay on the bed, her tail swishing happily.
"This is one of my favorite spots," she said, looking at Xander, "Feel how soft and squishy it is."

Noelle ran into the room and bounded over to sniff at the corner of the blanket to see what the adults were playing with. She pawed at it for a moment before attempting to taste it.
Xander wandered in circles on the bed, pressing his paws into the fabric. He glanced down at the children and nodded encouragingly before looking back at Charlotte. "Mh, very soft."
His tail swished curiously as he eyed the rest of the bed. Then he pounced, and his fur stood up as he bounced about unsteadily.

Charlotte giggled at the look on Xander's face as he bounced.
"It does take some getting use to," she said kindly, "But it's nice to sleep on once you get the hang of it. So, where is it that you all came from? I haven't seen other knopfleris around town so you're not strays. Did you...come from the wild?"
Her mouth was an amazed o, her eyes wide.
Meanwhile on the floor, Kayven licked Noelle's head to keep her from eating the sheet and then Myren toddled over and tried to cry up on the bed to, his tiny claws digging holes into the white sheet. He yipped excitedly, his little tail swishing quickly.
