It was to much for Kayven however. He saw the sharp, white teeth in Xander's smile and the figure of Xander's body, curled into a dangerous, lethal pose. He heard the deep, low growl and it set his every nerve on fire but this time he didn't cower. He didn't run away either. Instead, he pushed off with his back feet and ran straight into Xander, tackling him to the ground.
Then he sat on his friend and a deep, dominating growl came from his chest as he smiled sinfully in Xander's face.
"You are mine," he purred, and licked Xander's throat, nuzzling him.

While initially surprised, a flicker of instinct took charge and Xander suddenly tried to role over, either to knock Kayven off or to pin him down - whichever occurred first - as he felt muscles tense and a growl ripped through him. He had enough sense to not scratch or bite, but he couldn't fight the sudden overwhelming urge to control the situation.

When Xander rolled, Kayven was knocked off but he didn't bite. Instead, he cuddled up to Xander's side and snuggled with him, his tail waving. He even rolled on his back and showed his vulnerable belly, acting submissive for his friend.
He purred.

Xander was still for a moment, struggling to bring himself back under control as his tail flicked back and forth. He watched Kayven intently, ears twitching at the purring.
After a few minutes he had calmed considerably and relaxed, his tail settling by his side as he leaned over enough to reach the stripey male, he paused for a moment to reassure himself then briefly licked his friend's ears.

Kayven made a happy noise and cuddled gently with his friend.
"You looked so cool," he said, smiling, "I'm sorry if I frightened you, Xander. I just couldn't help myself."

With a grunt of amusement, Xander blinked calmly at Kayven, bringing his tail around to the other side to wrap around them both, "I wasn't frightened. ... How cool?"

"Very cool," Kayven said happily, curling his tail around Xander in return, "You smiled and I don't know what happened but...my insides all heated up. I just...I just became so excited."
He trembled in happiness and licked Xander gently.

Xander chuckled to himself, letting his gaze wander for a moment before returning his attention to Kayven when he felt him trembling against his side. He licked at him, "Excited, huh?"

"Uh huh," Kayven said, nodding in agreement, "I'm not sure why though. I've never felt this way before...it's nice."
He purred and cuddled some more with Xander.

Ears twitching as he watched Kayven curiously, Xander curled around the stripey Knopfleri a bit.
"Of course I think," He joked, then responded seriously, tilting his head slightly, "Think what?"

Kayven laughed gently at Xander's joke but then his ears drooped.
"Do you think...something's wrong with me?" he asked sadly, "I really like you, Xander. You're strong and smart and you've been incredibly kind to me but... you're a boy, like me, and I....what I feel for you....maybe I shouldn't because I'm a boy..."

Xander looked at his stripey friend thoughtfully for a long moment, wondering how to explain properly. He pressed his nose to the grey forehead in reassurance.
"No... there's nothing wrong with you Kayven. There's just some stuff you have to figure out first, that's all. You still have things to exerience, like meeting females and other males, see how you feel about them. As for the other stuff, I can always try help somehow, if you want me to." he replied, trying to sound comforting.

"Thank you, Xander," Kayven said, pressing against his friend thankfully. He had tears in his eyes but didn't let them fall.
"I've never had a friend before so...I don't know, maybe I'm just feeling some strong emotions of friendship for you," he said, "And you're right, once I see the others I'll know what's going on with me..."

Giving Kayven an encouraging lick, Xander turned his head to look around for a moment. His ears twitched at the sound of the wind through the trees.
"We can go now if you want?" he offered, having turned his attention back to the stripey Knopfleri.

"Alright," Kayven said and stood. He looked off into the distance, his ears twitching as he listened. He heard the wind and the trees leaves waving and he also heard a trickle of water.
"Is the lake nearby?" he asked innocently, looking at Xander.
